Chabad of Coral Springs has been operating food drives since the last week of March 2020. Initially, holding 3 drive through distribution weekly, we started by servicing 100-300 cars at each distribution.
Since July 22nd, Chabad has been holding a weekly food distribution. We have distributed as much as 45,000lbs of food in a single Wednesday afternoon to those that are struggling in our community. On average, we serve approximately 1,200 cars besides the 200+ home deliveries that are made to vulnerable seniors and those who are medically fragile.
In addition to our regular food distribution which services 4,000 people, we have also been working with the cities of Coconut Creek, Margate, Coral Springs and more than a dozen houses of worship and non-for-profits to supply additional food to individuals in other areas that are struggling and our frontline workers.
Each week we have nearly 100 volunteers that help us make this happen. Our volunteers range from high school students, city employees, law enforcement officers, clergy members, seniors, teachers, and many who have lost their income because of COVID-19 and still want to help give back.
It takes a community to make this happen. Thank you for supporting Coral Springs Chabad and Thomas Dobbs in helping us feed the community one cardboard box of food at a time.
